December. It’s a time to check off anti-resolutions and make way for a new year. The Baltimore entrepreneurial community has a few opportunities to get off on the right foot in 2022, and even a party celebrate all that was accomplished in 2021.

Check out a few opportunities to plug in:

Are you a Baltipreneur?

Loyola University Maryland’s accelerator program is returning in 2022.

Now in its third yearBaltipreneurs is open to businesses and social ventures from the city. The eight accepted ventures will get access to instruction, mentorship, pitch training, networking and more. Plus, the program provides access to capital.

“The CI&E leveraged more than $70,000 in financial support to last year’s large group of 13 Baltipreneurs,” said Wendy Bolger, director of Loyola’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, in a statement. “We can guarantee a minimum of $40,000 in non-dilutive grants going out to the eight participating ventures this year. Capital aside, the lasting value will be in the relationships you build, and the confidence and experience you gain.”

Applications are open on a rolling basis through Dec. 15. Apply here.

Crab Tank apps are open

Baltimore Homecoming is gathering the city’s well-known alumni this spring to reconnect with the city where they once lived, and a pitch competition for startups and businesses will be one of the events that showcase the current happenings in town.

Along with offering a chance to pitch to an influential group of leaders, the Crab Tank competition is offering a $25,000 grand prize, and a $2,500 people’s choice award. It’s sponsored by M&T Bank. (The last was held in 2019.)

It all takes place at Amplify 2022, the Baltimore Homecoming event series bringing folks to the city happening May 4 to 6, 2022.

That’s when downtown coworking community Spark Baltimore and Venture for America are teaming up to host Every Startup’s Holiday Party. It’s designed for the entrepreneurs and young companies that aren’t necessarily big enough for their own seasonal shindig, and all the rest of us who want to celebrate with them.

The event is set for 6 to 9 p.m. at Spark Baltimore. A $15 ticket benefits the animal rescue specialists at BARCS.
