RocketDocs named advanced analytics expert Xena Ugrinsky as chief technology officer.

In the role, she will work with clients to advance and implement the B2B software development company’s platform. Called ResponseFull, it’s designed to help enterprise companies manage large amount of content and business responses related to RFPs, due diligence, sales proposals, compliance and more.

Ugrinsky said RocketDocs represents a confluence of three key areas coming together: a product that “solves a pressing problem with an incredible customer base,” a strong customer service team and an opportunity for modernization.

“It’s really the perfect opportunity at the right time,” she said of the role.

Beginning her career in finance and banking, she started building technology and solutions to make her own job easier.

With Ugrinsky is a frequent speaker on the topics listed above, and is also the author of the book “Enterprise AI – Your Field Guide to the New Business Normal,” which was released recently.

She previously served as senior VP of analytics, cloud and strategy at Booz Allen Hamilton. She was also CTO of the global performance management and analytics organization at KPMG, and managing partner at hosting and managed services startup Pinnacle Worldwide, which was sold in 2008.

“Adding Xena to our team is a huge win for RocketDocs,” Jason Pappas, RocketDocs’ CEO, said in a statement. “She is a luminary in the industry and has an incredible breadth of knowledge in AI, technology enabled transformation, and enterprise software.”

Ugrinsky’s appointment follows the company relocating its headquarters to Baltimore from Frederick and bringing on a new group of leaders, including Pappas. The company plans to continue hiring as it grows.

Facet Wealth is continuing to bring on key leadership as it grows in 2019. Paul Martin joined the Harbor East-based fintech company as CTO.

He oversees software development, data security and data analytics, as well as improving the artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies used by the company. Martin previously served as CTO of Columbia-based workspace.com, and led growth of Sequoia Software that resulted in an IPO and acquisition by Citrix Systems.

“From a technical perspective, Facet was very appealing because of its innovative use of machine learning to improve efficiency within the core business. Additionally, the team is full of A players creating the quintessential Silicon Valley culture right here in my home town,” Martin said; the company’s founders relocated from Silicon Valley. “It was a very easy decision to join.”

The tech team will continue to grow. Joining a startup as it is growing has advantages, he said.

“The ability to lead, while still being hands on, allows you to have a direct impact in a manner that you simply can’t have in larger organizations,” Martin said. “Additionally, you have the unique opportunity to instill the principles, processes and culture that lead to great engineering organizations. Those two things make me excited to go to the office every morning.”

On Monday, Facet Wealth also named Paul Marino as the firm’s head of advisor partnerships. He brings more than 18 years of asset management and sales experience in the financial services industry, with organizations including Russell Investments and Amundi Pioneer Investment Management. In a statement, Marino said he is “excited to show high-net worth practices how we complement and partner with them to improve their overall valuations.”

Baltimore City Foundation, which promotes partnerships between city government and the private sector, said HyeSook Chung was appointed as president.

Chung, who previously served as deputy mayor for health and human services under D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, will focus on increasing opportunities for youth employment, strengthening neighborhoods assets such as recreation and parks and expanding wellness services for mental health and those battling addiction.

After last month’s news that Diana Gresham became chief operating officer of Hanover-based Bridges, the company announced a pair of promotions.

  • Larry Denton was named VP of business development. Having led business development at the firm previously, he also has experience with Leidos, Lockheed Martin, the National Security Agency and other intelligence-center roles in the federal government.
  • Kimberly Beam was named VP of cyber solutions. Noted by the company as a senior operations and policy expert, Beam takes on expanded leadership. She has prior experience leading teams and shaping policy at NSA and US Cyber Command.
