Here’s who won TEDCO’s 2017 ICE awards

Four of the six awardees are from Baltimore.

TEDCO’s ICE awards returned to Columbus Center in Inner Harbor on Thursday night.
The Maryland agency, which provides resources for startups and other businesses, awards portfolio companies for Innovation, Corporate Excellence and Entrepreneurship.
Here’s who won:

Innovation

After announcing a new deal with employee benefits company Discovery Benefits this week, Light Point Security picked up an award for innovation. The award comes after a record revenue year in 2016 for the bwtech@UMBC-based company founded by former NSAers Zuly Gonzalez and Beau Adkins.
Glyscend continued the Baltimore-area run in the category. The Johns Hopkins spinout is developing a new kind of treatment for Type 2 diabetes.

Corporate Excellence

BioPark-based Paragon Bioservices represented Baltimore in this category, which honors companies who create economic impact and are involved in the community. The company is a manufacturer of biopharmaceuticals, including vaccines for Zika.
Gaithersburg-based MaxCyte also won in this category. The company recently received funding from a TEDCO program supporting stem cell research.

Entrepreneurship

Awardees in this category recognizing startup leadership included Wendy Perrow, who is CEO of Johns Hopkins Fast Forward company Asclepix Therapeutics, and Elie Ashery of Gaithersburg-based email marketing company Gold Lasso.
The harbor provided a view of the stormy weather, but it was worth waiting for the skies to clear:
