DinnerTime moves into delivery with Peapod partnership

Delivery is now available on the Baltimore company's app after an eight-month integration. It's the latest in a series of partnerships meant to extend the DinnerTime brand.

Meal-planning app DinnerTime looks to make eating at home easier by providing recommendations for a grocery list based on tastes, diet and sales. Now they’re looking to cut the time it takes to get the groceries to the door with delivery.
The Baltimore-based startup has a new partnership with Peapod, which delivers groceries from brick-and-mortar grocers such as Giant and Stop & Shop in 24 metros.
DinnerTime members will now be able to select Peapod as their grocer, and create an order to be delivered by the service. Sales offered through Peapod will automatically appear for DinnerTime members. It’s the result of an eight-month data integration and UX project, helmed by CTO Doug Lay and CEO Laura Moore.
Along with Peapod’s reach as the largest online grocer, DinnerTime cofounder Charlie Moore said the company also has a “fine tuned, profitable delivery system that is highly reliable, with proven success with consumers.”

“We both believe that helping people plan their meals and grocery shopping more easily, and then delivered reliably, is a great value to consumers,” Moore said via email. “Most people have a very hard time thinking about more than a couple of meals ahead and, thus, all to often have to resort to fast food and takeout at the last moment, often spending far more and not eating as healthy as they intend.”
In a statement, Peapod Chief Creative and Marketing Officer Carrie Bienkowski said the partnership is a “natural choice,” as the company’s “customers are not just shopping for ingredients, they’re shopping for convenient meal solutions.”
It’s the latest growth through partnership for DinnerTime, which reached deals last year to make its service available for members of the American Heart Association and American Federation of Teachers.
