Early Light Media’s documentary about East Baltimore yo-yo culture is up for a Webby award. We first told you about it last May.
Throw, the short documentary that chronicles Coffin Nachtmahr, was nominated in the Documentary (Branded) category of the annual internet awards.
The ETC-based Early Light created the documentary as a passion project, and it has been shown at a number of film festivals. Early Light Media’s David Larson met Nachtmahr in Patterson Park, and the team subsequently delved into the yo-yo throwing subculture in East Baltimore.
The awards are decided April 25 by a committee assembled by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. Anyone can vote in the People’s Voice Award.
