Baltimore resident Alec Ross advised Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on innovation, and wrote a book on The Industries of the Future that’s gotten a lot of attention.

Now he’s mulling a run for governor in Maryland.

Buzz started earlier this month when Maryland Matters published a story about Ross’ potential run.

On WYPR Wednesday, Ross said that he is considering a challenge to Gov. Larry Hogan next year.

“When you think about what’s happening in our politics right now, it’s absolutely polluted,” he said. “Here in Maryland, I’m fairly disgusted by the degree to which Larry Hogan is absolutely refusing to dial back Trump’s reach into Maryland.” (You can listen to the interview here.)

Ross said he would likely make a decision about whether to run within a month.
