Light City named the startups who will pitch in the Baltimore Ravens Innovation Challenge during the upcoming conference.
The six companies will pitch judges, including Ravens staff and tech community members. The winning team gets advertising space inside M&T Bank Stadium for a year. As we kind of expected, the startups are mostly consumer-facing apps or products. It makes sense, as they would benefit the most from the wide exposure.
The event will be held at the close of SocialLab@Light City on April 6 at Columbus Center. It’s part of the innovation conference portion of the festival, which was renamed to Labs@Light City this year. The daytime schedule has plenty of talks on social innovation.
Here are the six startups pitching:
- Fixt, which makes a mobile device repair app. Also announced this week: the startup is also presenting at Mid-Atlantic Venture Association’s TechBUZZ on March 30 in DC
- Waxing Kara Honey House, an Owings Mills-based maker of artisinal honey goods, with a social focus on the importance of bees.
- DinnerTime, which makes a meal-planning app that helps people find sales at grocery stores and eat healthy.
- Hungry Harvest, the Shark Tank-winning company that delivers cast-off produce (and also made the ugly veggie emoji).
- Loople Mobile, grads of Accelerate Baltimore who made an app to find restaurant and drink specials, as well as events based on location.
- Treason Toting Co., City Garage-based bag and accessory makers.
