A new escape room is set to open downtown next month, and the owners are looking for tech-savvy folks to help keep things puzzling.
Baltimaze is seeking to hire five part-time escape room operators. The role is a mix of running the venue’s three games, and administrative work to keep the venue going. You’ll greet guests, and get command of the venue’s “8-monitor, 10-microphone, 10-camera setup.”
An escape room puts players in a room, and gives them what sounds like a simple challenge: get out. But the game is designed so it’s not that easy. Plus, the clock is ticking.
On the Technical.ly public Slack, a post from Baltimaze’s Valerie Moye caught our eye. Moye says the outfit is looking for folks with hardware engineering, Arduino programming, or gaming experience.
“Our escape rooms use interactive technology to make it a fun, immersive experience, so having staff that can contribute and troubleshoot the automated mechanisms is a huge plus,” she told us.
The hours listed are evenings on Thursday-Sunday, so it looks like a chance to pick up some extra night and weekend work.-30-
