There’s a new spot to search for information about places to set up businesses in Maryland.
The state’s Department of Commerce is rolling out ZoomProspector across the state this month.
Developed by GIS Planning, the searchable site has infographics and maps that are designed to help businesses locate in a specific areas of the state.
ZoomProspector allows businesses to search data about a specific community, including demographics and labor force profile. Information is also available about access to transit, broadband and how people in the area spend money.
Another set of search tools provides information about specific properties that are available. The department regularly posts information it receives from property owners and brokers.
“We want to make it easy for businesses considering a move to Maryland or planning an expansion here,” Maryland Commerce Secretary Mike Gill said in a statement. “ZoomProspector not only significantly streamlines what can often be a lengthy search process, but also highlights our state’s outstanding assets and vibrant communities.”
