Under Armour’s recent moves at the top continued on Thursday with the announcement of some hiring and a promotion for a longtime employee.
Kip Fulks, who was Kevin Plank’s first partner in the company, was named Chief Product Officer. The 20-year UA employee will oversee marketing, innovation and other areas related to the company’s apparel products.
To fill out product leadership under Fulks, the company hired Colin Browne as President of Global Sourcing and Andy Donkin as Chief Marketing Officer. Browne, former Managing Director of backpack maker VF Corporation, is set to join UA on Sept. 6.
Donkin previously worked at Amazon, where he was involved in ideation and campaign strategies for projects like Amazon Prime, Fire, Kindle and Echo.
The moves come on the heels of news from the Pittsburgh Business Journal that former VP of Connected Fitness Strategy Bill Besselman was leaving to join the Pittsburgh startup Thread, which turns trash from the developing world into fabric. Leanne Fremar, the creative director for UA’s women and concept divisions, also said she would join Starbucks as creative director in October, Fortune reported.
