Fresh off raising nearly $2 million and opening an office in Los Angeles, Baltimore tagged along with Citybizlist’s Edwin Warfield to talk to SocialToaster CEO Brian Razzaque to dig a little deeper into how the company works.

The ETC-based social marketing startup has worked with a number of name-brand clients like Perdue Chicken, the Baltimore Ravens and Duck Dynasty. The company specializes in creating fan engagement programs on social media that help companies harness their massive followings.

“We don’t look at it as a problem of engagement,” Razzaque said. “We look at it as a different problem — we think of it as a content problem. We’re trying to solve the problem of how do you take content you’re publishing online, somewhere on the web, and how do you make it go viral?”
