Strajillion was selected as a finalist for this year’s CTIA Startup Lab.
The Johns Hopkins FastForward startup, which is developing an app that helps parents keeps an eye on how kids are using social media, was among 25 other mobile-oriented companies selected by the wireless trade group.
Called Rakkoon, the company’s flagship app spots content for parents and kids to talk about rather than just blocking it, Strajillion CEO Scott Winn told us in a recent profile.
“We don’t want to tell people how to parent, we want to give them tools to be a better parent,” Winn said.
The Startup Lab connects the selected startups with wireless industry leaders. During CTIA’s Super Mobility conference in Las Vegas next month, the finalists will pitch to a panel of industry leaders. Three are selected as winners.
Last year’s list of finalists didn’t include any Baltimore companies.
