The Ruby on Rails meetup is a mini-hackathon this time around. Bring a laptop and an idea about open-source code you’d like to hack. Then, you’ll get a few hours to team up with a group and see what you can fix.

#SocEnt Breakfast: Baltimore’s Workforce Future
In the first edition since #BaltimoreUprising, this breakfast speaker series focuses on long-term change in Baltimore. Seema Iyer of the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance will discuss a new report about why people stay and leave Baltimore, and Mike Kelly of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council will talk about a new regional plan for economic sustainability.

Startup Grind Baltimore: Dave Troy
Serial entrepreneur and TED Talk star Dave Troy will speak at the Baltimore edition of this entrepreneurship-focused speaker series, hosted at ETC’s Haven Street campus. Troy started his first tech company in 1986, and has since branched out into visualizing social media data, social commentary and more.

Digital Harbor Foundation Spring Youth Showcase
Baltimore youth makers show off their work from the winter and spring. DHF showcases are always an interactive event, with students presenting and explaining their work. Among the skills they have been working on are 3D printing, Minecraft and circuits & electronics.

TEDxHampdenWomen
This special event is dedicated to “exploring the life and experiences of Baltimore women.” A cross-section of women, including a PR pro from Sandtown-Winchester, a community acitivist from Hamilton and a vegan restaurant owner from Mt. Vernon, will share their stories.
