“I’m really passionate about by securing innovative economies that are inclusive of social entrepreneurs of color,” Foxworth said. “So I want to make sure there’s positive support for everyone and that we really encourage a lot of support and participation for everyone that wants to get involved.”
Foxworth, cofounder and co-organizer of Baltimore’s SocEnt Breakfast, is one of several speakers from Baltimore slated for Rise, along with Richard Best of Section1 and writer Dee Watkins of Salon.
“I’m really looking forward to gaining insight in terms of how different cities are building supports and ecosystems for social innovators in their towns,” Foxworth said.
Foxworth is also a community manager for BMe Community in Baltimore. In that role, he’s been assisting Baltimore’s ten 2014 winners of the group’s Leader Awards, which support the work of black activists.
In Philadelphia, Foxworth said, he plans to talk about “inclusive innovation economies.”
“I’ll be talking about social enterprise and social entrepreneurship,” he said, framing it through BMe’s work with social entrepreneurs of color.
Foxworth is set to speak at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24. For more information on the conference, including a full schedule, speaker list and tickets, visit the conference’s website.
