Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will host a Google Hangout Friday afternoon ahead of the 10-day Star-Spangled Spectacular, city officials announced.
The hangout, viewable at 1:30 p.m. on both Google+ and YouTube, will feature guests from the Maryland War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission, the U.S. Navy, Star-Spangled 200, Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, Sail Baltimore and city agencies.
The Spectacular, which runs from Sept. 10-16, marks the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore, which inspired Francis Scott Key to pen the poem which became the national anthem.
On Sept. 12, you can check out the Star-Spangled Spectacular fireworks bonanza while also partaking in the Baltimore Innovation Week 2014 kickoff event. But come hungry: the Gathering food truck coalition will be there in full force.
