CyberMaryland adds two speakers [Cybersecurity Roundup]

This is the Cybersecurity Roundup, a weekly look at what's going on in Maryland's fast-growing cybersecurity sector.

State officials announced two more keynote speakers for CyberMaryland. Maria Klawe, president of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, Calif., is an advocate for STEM education. Author Daniel Obodovski co-wrote “The Silent Intelligence: The Internet of Things.” The conference will be held Oct. 29 and 30 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The annual conference is sponsored by the state Department of Business and Economic Development.

Rising University of Maryland, Baltimore County senior Victoria Lentz was named one of 11 recipients earlier this month of a scholarship aimed at women studying cybersecurity, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported.

Analytics and threat mitigation firm SixGen was named a Collaboration Hub member in the Chesapeake Innovation Center in Odenton, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported.

Red Owl Analytics has job openings in its Federal Hill headquarters for two data scientists and a visualization engineer.
