Baer School teacher seeks funds for tablets [Crowdfunding]

A teacher at the William S. Baer School in Baltimore is asking for help funding tablets for disabled students. Amanda Danks teaches at the Mondawmin school, which serves disabled students from across the city.
Danks is looking for help buying a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, a Google Nexus 10, protection plans and cases for the tablets. The total project cost is a little more than $1,200, with most of that outstanding, according to the fundraiser page on DonorsChoose.org.
“My students will utilize the tablets daily to access a variety of basic skill practice,” Danks wrote on the page. “My students have significant disabilities and require specialized educational activities so that they are able to access the content. My students also require specialized cases that protect the equipment from drops and breakages. Due to their physical disabilities these cases are essential to preserving the tablets.”
The project is accepting donations through July 9.
