Five teams of student-entrepreneurs from the University of Maryland and the Johns Hopkins University are among the 14 semifinalists in this year’s Cupid’s Cup competition.

Hosted and supported by Under Armour founder Kevin Plank, the annual contest begun in 2006 for student-startups is open to colleges across the U.S. More than 150 teams entered the 2014 competition.

The startup that wins first place in the competition receives $75,000. All the semifinalists will present their early-stage company ideas at Under Armour headquarters in Tide Point Thursday on Feb. 20. Five finalists, who will compete again in early April, will be chosen from the pool of 14.
