Meet newly retired Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Adrienne B., now a veterinary technician who studied animal science and biotechnology at the University of Maryland College Park.
She went out on top — following a Super Bowl win — and now is using her degree. The interview comes by way of Science Cheerleader, a ‘citizen science’ effort started by former Philadelphia 76ers cheerleader turned academic researcher Darlene Cavalier who had grown tired over the stereotypes about cheerleaders, women and their place in professional STEM fields.
Cavalier and her team have found dozens of professional cheerleaders who have heavy science careers.
