Baltimore city poverty rate at 25.2 percent [MAP]

Baltimore city’s poverty rate stands above 25 percent.

New U.S. Census Bureau data for the state of Maryland shows that the poverty rate in the city has risen since the recession of 2008 by about 5 percentage points.

The information was published in a report released this month by the Maryland Department of Planning. Read the report here.
