Leading the accelerator program in Baltimore is Dr. Elliot Menschik, a Johns Hopkins graduate and entrepreneur who founded HxTechnologies, a medical imaging company, that was acquired by MEDecision in 2009. Applications to the Baltimore program will be accepted through Nov. 11. The startups will be selected by Dec. 16, and the accelerator formally begins Jan. 17, 2014.

Menschik also led the first iteration of DreamIt Health in Philadelphia, which wrapped up in early August. DreamIt was founded and based in Philadelphia but also operates in Austin, New York, Israel and now Baltimore.
