For winning the first season of “The Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius,” the new Discovery Channel show that highlights engineering talent, Harford County resident Corey Fleischer took home $50,000.

The 32-year-old Fleischer is a mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and works at Lockheed Martin. He was interviewed by Dan Rodricks on his WYPR show, Midday, on Monday.

In addition to winning “The Big Brain Theory,” Fleischer is also a cofounder of the Baltimore Foundery makerspace, which Technically Baltimore reported on in May.
