Martin Roesch is, in all likelihood, a happy man right now. After all, he’s the founder of Sourcefire, recently acquired by Cisco for $2.7 billion.
In an interview with the Baltimore Sun, Roesch talks about building Sourcefire, the recent deal and Cisco’s commitment to maintain Sourcefire’s local presence. But he also talks about Maryland as a cybersecurity hub, saying the is becoming the Silicon Valley of cybersecurity “on its own to some degree”:
[T]here’s so much cybertalent and cyberactivity in this part of the world, with Cyber Command over at Fort Meade … and companies like Sourcefire in the region. It’s just kind of a natural occurrence with that much concentrated knowledge base and skills base in one part of the country.
