who’s getting funded?

Venture firm New Enterprise Associates, with offices in Chevy Chase and Timonium, leads a $37 million investment round for MuleSoft, makers of an integration platform for connecting software-as-a-service applications in the cloud, according to CityBizList. MuleSoft has headquarters in San Francisco.

Who’s making moves?

Light Point Security and SurveySnap are two of 16 startups chosen from among 125 to present at the TechBUZZ 2013 conference April 23. Cybersecurity firm Light Point is based out of UMBC, and SurveySnap is one of six companies in AccelerateBaltimore‘s 2013 class. LM&O Advertising, based in Arlington, Va., has acquired Fells Point-based web design firm Vim Interactive and its Washington, D.C., affiliate Reef Light Interactive. “The deal enables LM&O, one of the few full-service agencies in the Washington market, to expand its in-house interactive marketing capabilities, which complement the agency’s other services, including TV, radio, web and print creative, media planning and buying, and direct marketing,” according to a press release.
