Annapolis-based TeleCommunication Systems won a contract worth $16.1 million in incremental funding “to deliver communications systems to the U.S. Marine Corps.,” reports Washington Technology.

“The company will provide the Marine Corps with deployed engineering services for its wireless point-to-point systems and commercialization efforts in theater, the company said in a release.

The company, which specializes in developing mobile communication technology, was founded in 1987 and went public in 2000. It employs nearly 1,400 people and reported revenue of $425 million for fiscal year 2011.”
