Steel yourselves, because the second full week of February throws down.
Tonight head to Betamore to hear from Paul Singh, partner with 500 Startups, on how the angel investing game is changing rapidly. Tomorrow morning is another installment of Columbia TechBreakfast, with Howard County CIO Ira Levy in the mix. Big decision to make Tuesday evening: party it up with new Baltimore Development Corporation president Brenda McKenzie at the BioPark, or head to Mustang Alley with the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council to drink beer and bowl with fellow tech professionals? All day Friday is yet another BizWorkshop, this one tailored to those startups still looking to incorporate their businesses. And on Saturday, the third CreateBaltimore, the unconference for people who give a damn about making Baltimore a better place.

The Rise of the Angels with Paul Singh: At Betamore tonight, Paul Singh of 500 Startups will be leading a talk and Q&A session about the changing mechanics of financing early-stage startups around the world. Preceding Singh’s talk will be a presentation by the Baltimore Angels, this city’s angel investing group. Monday, Feb. 11, 6 p.m. Betamore, 1111 Light St., Federal Hill, Baltimore city. RSVP. FREE for members/$15 for investors and entrepreneurs.
Columbia TechBreakfast: Another installment of Columbia TechBreakfast, but this time the draw is Howard County CIO Ira Levy, who will speak for nearly 40 minutes. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 8 a.m. Loyola University Maryland Columbia Campus, 8890 McGaw Rd., Howard County. RSVP. FREE.
Brenda McKenzie Welcome Party: The University of Maryland BioPark welcomes new Baltimore Development Corporation president and CEO Brenda McKenzie to town Tuesday night. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 5 p.m. University of Maryland BioPark, 801 W. Baltimore St., Hollins Market, Baltimore city. RSVP. FREE.
Bowling Night with Chesapeake Regional Tech Council: Because not every event can be a panel discussion, the CRTC is hosting a bowling night at Mustang Alley’s (which is inside the same building that Capital Studios coworking space occupies). There will be food. There will be beer. There will be bowling. This is madness. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 5 p.m. Mustang Alleys, 1300 Bank St., Little Italy, Baltimore city. RSVP. $50 to bowl/$45 to attend.
Corporate Formation and Legal Necessities Workshop: Another BizWorkshop for those startups that have missed several others. Incorporate your business in Maryland and Delaware, and get all the proper paperwork filed in one daylong session. Friday, Feb. 15, 9 a.m. TowsonGlobal Incubator, 7801 York Rd., Towson, Baltimore County. RSVP. $249.
CreateBaltimore 3: The unconference of unconferences, CreateBaltimore brings together techies, innovators, artists, activists, scholars and, really, anyone who has an idea for how to make Baltimore a better place to live and work. Saturday, Feb. 16, 9 a.m. Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus, 3400 N. Charles St., Charles Village, Baltimore city. RSVP. $15.
