Wangda Zuo's research focuses on modeling and simulation of smart, sustainable and resilient cities. His lab contributes to the development of multiple major open-source tools, including Fast Fluid Dynamic model for indoor airflow simulation, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s Modelica Buildings library for the optimal design and operation of building and community energy systems, and National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s URBANopt for high-performance buildings and energy systems within one geographically cohesive area within a city.
He has worked many research projects funded by NSF, DOE, DOD, ASHRAE, DTRA on advanced modeling for building and community energy systems; grid-interactive efficient district energy systems; indoor environment modeling; energy efficiency data center cooling; smart garden alley, smart, sustainable and connected communities.
