Following the success of its 2021 program, Richmond, Virginia software consulting firm Covintus is launching two tech accelerator cohorts in 2022.

Covintus, founded in 2010, offers consulting services for tech startups, specifically in the software, UX and UI spaces. Its 10-week program, called the Tech Tank accelerator, begins January 25 and will focus on the technical aspects of launching a startup. Selected applicants will participate in sessions that include information on tech-based entrepreneurship training, a tech audit, optimizing partner relations and maximizing valuation.

A statement from Covintus said it’s looking for applicants in the startup space with a tech or software product, goal-driven founders and companies at both the early and growth stages. Ahead of the deadline, applicants can attend an information session on December 3. In addition to the winter session, it will be offering a summer session, with 20 spots open in total. The 2022 cohort follows its inaugural cohort, launched in April, where it hosted five founders from across the US.

Every founder selected will receive $5,000 in what Covintus calls Matching Credits, which can be put back towards its consulting services. The winter session will end with a pitch competition, the winner of which will receive an additional $25,000 in matching credits and $10,000 for the runner-up.

The cohort is part of an overall goal of offering $1 million to startup founders. So far, it has awarded $85,000 in benefits to participating founders. In 2021, cohort founders included DC’s All Bets, a sports betting application, and Richmond’s Nessle, an online directory for virtual learning in the parenting space.

“Founders who completed our Summer 2021 Cohort walked away wiser about their tech products and more connected to resources they need for growth,” said Logan Ryan, Covintus manager and Tech Tank coordinator, in a statement. “We encourage any founder with a well-developed idea and a scalable product to apply to Covintus Tech Tank.”

Applications will be accepted through December 10.
