Find out who’s representing DC in the finals of Tech in Motion’s Timmy Awards

Following a community vote last month, Tech in Motion, the national network for tech events, has revealed the regional winners in DC of its annual Timmy Awards, honoring tech companies and individuals.

Tech in Motion said it received thousands of votes for area companies in the DC region. Some, DC like event rental software company Goodshuffle Pro, were actually repeat winners, showcasing their impact on the area ecosystem and community. The winners in each category will go on to compete against winners from Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Toronto for the national prize, which will be announced October 28th.

While the local competition was determined by community vote, national awardees will be decided by representatives from national companies including Nirmal Srinivasan, software engineering director at PayPal and Freddy Rivera, senior program manager of Arlington’s Oracle.

“To be recognized by their peers as a leader in creating great places for tech professionals to work in Washington, DC is quite an accomplishment,” said Lindsay Lewis, Tech in Motion senior manager of marketing, in a statement. “Through the Timmys, we are excited to be able to highlight companies retaining and attracting tech talent to the area, and we are impressed by the forward-thinking leadership, innovation and positive work environments cultivated by these regional winners.”

• Best Tech Startup: Goodshuffle Pro
• Best Tech Work Culture (Large Employers): FiscalNote
• Best Tech Work Culture (Small-Medium Employers): 10Pearls
• Best Tech Manager: Ashish Kachru, president of Altruista Health
