Tenable, the publicly-traded cyberecurity company based in Columbia, this month hired Nico Popp as chief product officer and appointed Niloofar Razi Howe as an independent director on its board. The company said both leaders will help Tenable as it continues to expand in cloud-focused technologies.

Popp will lead the company’s engineering and product management organizations. He previously served in the same role at Forcepoint, the cybersecurity software subsidiary of Raytheon, and held senior roles at Symantec and VeriSign. The technologist is also a coinventor of WebObjects, which is used by Apple to power its iTunes Store.

“His experience will be critical as Tenable continues to expand into more cloud deployments globally, helping customers accelerate their digital initiatives through the continuous, dynamic monitoring of assets and user permissions, along with the means to prioritize remediation based on risk,” said Tenable CEO Amit Yoran, in a statement.

Howe, who assumed her board seat on March 25, is senior operating partner at the energy-focused venture capital fund Energy Impact Partners. She also previously held key operating roles at cybersecurity companies as the chief strategy officer at both RSA and Endgame. Along with Tenable, she serves on the board at Morgan Stanley Private Bank, NA and Morgan Stanley Bank, NA, Pondurance, Recorded Future, Swimlane, and Tamr.

“With her expertise in cybersecurity and a track record of leading corporate strategy and global expansion at high-growth companies, Niloo is a key addition to the Tenable board,” Yoran said.
