Power Moves: CAMI adds board members, Prometric appoints CTO

With the appointment of Dr. Gwen Greene and Sarah Woods, the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, Inc. (CAMI) board of directors is expanding to 22 members.

Dr. Greene is CEO of Fulton-based Applied Information Technology. Woods brings over 25 years of experience as a marketing executive in tech fields, and currently serves as president of Baltimore-based VenturePotential.

“Both are exceptional leaders who bring with them a wealth of industry experience and business knowledge that will enhance CAMI’s ability to achieve its vision of creating a more cyber prepared Maryland,” CAMI board chair Gregg Smith said in statement.

Both are nonprofit leaders and years in cybersecurity. Greene brings the skills as diversity chair for CAMI, where she helped build and strengthen a women-centric cybersecurity network.

The appointments follow the cybersecurity industry trade group’s hiring of executive director Tasha Cornish earlier this year.

The 600-member organization also added new advisory council members, including:

• Darren Death, VP of Information Security and CISO at ARSC
• Samara Moore, Security Assurance, Energy Specialist at Amazon Web Services
• Phil Mellinger, Chief Security Office at Tower Federal Credit Union
• Ed Roberts, Outreach and Recruitment Officer at Community College of Baltimore County
• Kyle Waggoner, Director Information Security at Perdue Farms
• Judith Emmel, (Ret.) Director, State, Local and Community Relations at the National Security Agency

Oliver Chang.

Oliver Chang joined Canton-based Prometric as chief technical officer this week. The exam development, management, and distribution firm is keen to add Chang’s experience with cloud based technologies and leading product innovation with companies like Diebold Nixdorf, FleetCor, First Data Corporation and TSYS.

“Oliver’s experience and leadership vision will undoubtedly serve Prometric well in our mission to drive accelerated technology innovation in support of evolving market needs and to build on our reputation as one of the most trusted and reliable providers of high-quality assessment services in the industry,” Roy Simrell, CEO of Prometric, said in a statement.

Along with the appointment, Prometric’s Paul Forrester will become senior VP of test development services at the company. It’s a role that will focus on process and tech enhancements, as well as strategic direction for one of the company’s key products.

The Maryland Chamber of Commerce announced Friday that Christine A. Ross will transition out of the CEO role this summer after five years with the business advocacy organization.

Ross led the Annapolis-based organization as it grew to over 5,500 members, a news release states. She relaunched its foundation, which now features a program that pairs high school teachers and businesses to gain experiential learning in the subjects they teach. She has also grown the Maryland Chamber Federation, a grassroots advocacy network which established partnerships with more than 25 local chambers of commerce. Ross centered equity in the Chamber’s work, forming a second chance task force to understand workforce reentry and encourage conversations on justice reform among business leaders.

“We are grateful for Christine’s leadership, vision and tenacity over the past five years,” Stephen Woerner, the Chamber’s board chair, said in a statement. “The Chamber, the business community and all Marylanders will continue to benefit from her contributions as CEO for years to come.”

Ross plans to pursue consulting work. The Chamber board will launch a search for her successor.

Frank Paskiewicz is onboard as the executive vice president of cargo operations at MissionGO Unmanned Systems. The transportation logistics company brings 28 years of experience with the Federal Aviation Administration, and the company believe his expertise will go a long way towards navigating the regulatory process involved in unmanned flight.

“The addition of Frank Paskiewicz is an exciting step forward in our cargo operations and reflects our commitment to compliance, safety, and innovation,” Anthony Pucciarella, president of MissionGO, said in a statement.

MissionGO, which was a RealLIST Startups 2021 honoree, is one of several companies under the wing of Pucciarella and CEO Scott Plank that are working on unmanned delivery of cargo, such as human organs for transplant. As we reported last year, the company was behind a pair of successful test flights of human organs in Nevada in October.
