Replacing three legacy systems for Medicare-provider reporting with one modern and user-centric system is not an easy task, particularly when it involves the collaboration of numerous different groups. But that is exactly what “Navacados” — the team of developers, designers and engineers at Nava PBC — were charged with. In addition to being fast and easy to use, the new API developed by Nava will incentivize doctors getting paid by the Medicare system for the quality of service they provide to patients rather than the amount.
“We’re at the forefront of policy and service delivery here at Nava,” said Senior Product Manager Ivana Ng “When we’re functioning as one team and thinking through technical and product solutions with policy in mind, that becomes a feedback loop where ultimately, long term, we can drive policy and implementation to be centered around the user.”
So how complex is it to design a simple solution for government partners? We recently talked to Ng and Senior Engineering Lead Mari Miyachi to get the lowdown on the project and what it’s like to work for Nava.
