TEDCO’s board of directors has new leadership

TEDCO’s board of directors has new officers.
Maryland’s quasi-public agency which provides funding and other resources to early-stage companies named the following officers for its board.

• Chair: Francis Smyth, CEO, Century Engineering
• Vice Chairman: Chuck Knudsen, Vice President, T. Rowe Price
• Treasurer: Paul Ausley, COO, Ausley Associates
• Secretary: Matthew Lee, CEO, FASTech

The officers will each serve for a one-year term. In all TEDCO’s board has 15 members, who are appointed by the governor. Some of the other members from Baltimore include Fixt CEO Luke Cooper, Jennifer Elisseeff of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Omar Muhammad of Morgan State University and Newt Fowler of the Womble Carlyle law firm.
“Providing the right tools and resources to Maryland’s entrepreneurs is vital to strengthening our workforce and ensuring that our state is open for business,” said Gov. Larry Hogan. “I would like to congratulate the new executive officers of TEDCO as they work to guide Maryland’s growing number of innovators, entrepreneurs, and startup companies to achieve even greater successes.”
Earlier this summer, investor and entrepreneur George Davis became CEO of the organization. The organization recently revamped its Seed Investment Fund and created a pre-seed fund for minority entrepreneurs.
