And so the year 2016 draws swiftly to a close. And what a year it was — the year of Brexit, of the Rio Olympics and of Beyonce’s Lemonade. The year we elected Donald Trump.

Much has, and will, be said about what (geo)political and cultural lessons can be learned from such a year. Thankfully, that’s not (quite) our job. Instead, we’re here to unpack the year 2016 in #dctech trends. Who raised money, worked on cool projects or launched new initiatives? And what was the government up to?
We’ll go into all of that over the course of this series — 10 key trends we noticed (and followed!) in #dctech in 2016. We also asked some tech community members to share their year in review. Stay tuned all week for the goods and check this page for the collection.
