Christopher GrayScholly’s always-media-savvy cofounder, landed himself and his company in the pages of the New York Times.
Though this time, the Philly-based entrepreneur didn’t get there by way of a heated Shark Tank appearance or a high-profile hire. No, last Friday, an interview by reporter Kate Sinclair was published in the New York daily, in which Gray gave seven tips for those gunning for the social entrepreneurship space.
One of those tips — titled “Leverage your University” — included a shoutout to his alma mater, Drexel.
“I was a student when I appeared on Shark Tank,” Gray told Sinclair. “That’s a big thing for the school. Drexel helped promote us. And what’s the latest from Scholly? Just last month they signed up New York University for its Give:Scholly initiative, which lets universities and companies offer students and employees access to the scholarship-tracking platform. Seven higher-ed institutions and two companies have signed up thus far.
Oh, and come December, Gray will be receiving the Smithsonian American Ingenuity Award for Youth Achievement from Smithsonian Magazine.
