Wireless thermometer Fever Smart nears $40K crowdfunding goal

Plus: why the company ditched its former name, Life Patch.

Fever Smart raised three-quarters of their $40,000 crowdfunding goal in less than 24 hours this week. They were also featured on Indiegogo’s homepage yesterday.

Fever Smart, which developed a wireless thermometer, used to be called Life Patch. The Penn undergrad team recently rebranded because they felt Fever Smart described the product more, said CEO Aaron Goldstein in an email.

The company’s Indiegogo campaign lets customers pre-order thermometers for an early-bird rate of $99.
