The Computer Wore Heels: support this STEM iBook app for girls

If we want to get young girls interested in science, technology, engineering and math, they need role models. Who better than the teenage girls who worked as mathematicians for the U.S. Army during World War II?

If we want to get young girls interested in science, technology, engineering and math, they need role models. Who better than the teenage girls who worked as mathematicians for the U.S. Army during World War II?

Filmmaker and Temple professor LeAnn Erickson wants to tell the stories of these girls through an iBook app she’s calling The Computer Wore Heels. But first she needs to raise $8,200.

Support the project here by Nov. 12.

Erickson is the filmmaker behind Top Secret Rosies, a documentary about the American women programmers of World War II. She decided to create The Computer Wore Heels to target the one audience whom her documentary couldn’t reach: elementary school-age girls.
