Central High School‘s robotics team, RoboLancers Team 321, just landed $8,000 in the form of two grants: a $5,000 grant from NASA and a $3,000 from Comcast, according to a release.

Out of the 57 teams around the country that won the NASA Robotics Alliance sustaining grant, The RoboLancers were one of two Pennsylvania teams. The team will use the money to pay the entrance fee for the Springside-Chestnut Hill FIRST Robotics District Competition held in March, said head coach Daniel Ueda.

Central High School’s robotics program has been around since 1991, and the RoboLancers have since grown to a team of more than 125 students (see a team photo here).
