Kickstarter of the Week is a new regular series highlighting the technology, creative and innovation Kickstarter campaigns in Baltimore that might be worth your support. See others here.
Say you're at the zoo with your new DSLR camera, and you're taking photos of the tigers.
You remove the lens cap from your camera and place it in your pocket. Or, at least, you thought you placed it in your pocket until you see it bouncing into the tiger pen, where it becomes the new chew toy for Ralph. (This tiger looks like a Ralph.)
The Cap Gorilla
, the brainchild of Martin Lotz
, will prevent that from ever happening.
It attaches to the lens of a camera strap, where it acts as a "super strong, stretchy, and gripping silicone band to firmly hold your camera lens cap or other photo accessories right where you want it," according to Lotz's Kickstarter page. So no more fumbling around finding a place to stash your lens cap while you snap away with your camera. Donate to Cap Gorilla's Kickstarter campaign.
Thus far, Lotz, who is an engineer by training and a Baltimore County private school facilities director by trade
, is about $300 shy of the $2,900 fundraising goal. The initial funds will allow Lotz to take his Cap Gorilla prototype and start mass producing it, according to his Kickstarter page. Watch his Kickstarter video:
