voxx.io, a digital jukebox, took top honors at Philadelphia Startup Weekend 4.0, beating out 11 other teams at the popular event, during which attendees aim to build a startup in a weekend.

The six-person voxx.io team was led by Josh Hudnall, an iOS app developer who actually flew in from Denver to compete in the event. He says he wants to continue working on voxx.io, a digital jukebox that would partner with bars, restaurants and shops to allow consumers to influence the music playing inside.

“I don’t want to see it die just because the weekend is over,” Hudnall said, adding that he’s been sitting on the idea for a year and was waiting for a time when he’d be able to really work on it.

As for the distance issue (the rest of his team lives in Philly), business development lead Jimmy Lowe said: “That’s what Skype is for.”

Startup Weekend 4.0, held at University of the Arts, was “a little more intimate” than the others, said co-organizer Chris Baglieri, who’s participated in every Philly Startup Weekend. Several teams folded during the weekend and joined other teams, he said.

The judges – Philly Startup Leaders president and AppRenaissance CEO Bob Moul, First Round Capital partner Chris Fralic, Curalate CEO Apu Gupta and SnipSnap CEO Ted Mann, who won an earlier Startup Weekend – announced the weekend’s winners on Sunday after the startups demoed.

Below, a list of winners and brief descriptions of the startups that demoed.

Startups: send us your websites and slides and we’ll post them.

1st Place: voxx.io

2nd Place: FeedMe, described by one of the judges as an “AirBnB” for homecooked meals. “Eaters” can log on to FeedMe to find extra portions of homecooked meals nearby and buy them off the “chefs.”

3rd Place: Boxly, which team member Michael Raber of AppRenaissance described as an easier way to store and organize content. Boxly is super simple spreadsheet, onto which you can cut and paste images, numbers and text.

Best Design: Fitify, a tool to help you find the perfect field hockey stick.

Culture Canvas: A tool to get a look into a prospective employer’s company culture. Alli Blum, who came up with the idea, said she had been planning on pitching it at Startup Weekend since June.

Send Me Somewhere: A tool to find the perfect vacation.

Healthtabulous: A healthy-living guide for busy women.

Open Lab: An open-source science journal, described by team member Tom Kennedy as a “Github for science research.”

Inkindly: A network to help organizations give in kind donations to tech events, presented by Jordan Coeyman, who built the crowdsourced map RepresentPA.com, and Al Rivera.

ReacTionary: A tool to deliver real-time analytics to TV advertisers about their ads.

Loud n Fresh: Presented by two high school students, Loud n Fresh is a place to discover new music and to help new musicians find new fans.

SkillTwine: A network to find people who have skills that you want to learn.

And just for fun, here are co-organizers Baglieri and Melissa Morris Ivone in a stunning rendition of “Everybody’s Working for the Weekend.”
