Querying the addresses for just 300 vacant buildings at a time "makes the application fast and decreases the marker load time," said Develop_For developer Will Carroll.

A map plotting vacant buildings in Baltimore, assembled last August from the vacants dataset on OpenBaltimore.

Another map cataloging Baltimore city’s vacant buildings has been built using the vacant building data set on OpenBaltimore.
This map, from Washington, D.C.-based Develop_For, queries the addresses for just 300 vacant buildings at a time. “which makes the application fast and decreases the marker load time,” said Develop_For developer and southern Maryland resident Will Carroll.

Civic hacker Shea Frederick also has an interactive map that displays Baltimore’s vacant properties. Frederick’s map, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported, cross-references the vacant building data set with neighborhood information collected by the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance.
