Law firm Montgomery McCracken will once again be participating in Young Involved Philadelphia’s State of Young Philly event series, this time hosting a panel discussion called “Born & Raised in Philadelphia: Raising Startup Capital Outside of Silicon Valley,” on Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 6–8 p.m.

The featured panelists of angel investors and venture capitalists will discuss the complexities of term sheets and working with investors, with topics including the terms and concepts every entrepreneur should understand, how set terms impact later decisions and how to negotiate a term sheet that aligns with your overall goals.

Current panelists include Ellen Weber (executive director of Robin Hood Ventures and Temple University’s Fox School of Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute), Alex Katz (Chief Financial Officer of ff Venture Capital), Chad Stender (director of operations at SeventySix Capital) and David Luk (principal at Safeguard Scientifics). Yours truly, Ernie Holtzheimer (Montgomery McCracken attorney), will serve as moderator and lead the discussion.

If you are currently growing a company in Philadelphia, or hope to do so in the future, this is an event you do not want to miss.

The panel will be held at Montgomery McCracken, at 123 S. Broad St. Following the panel, attendees are invited to join us for a wine and beer networking reception.

The event is free and if you have any questions, please contact Lauren Konyves at events@mmwr.com.
