Don’t sleep on these 17 prime tech jobs around Philly

Santa Monica, Calif.-based Inspire has a livestream at their Center City Philadelphia satellite office that lets workers peek into what the West Coast camp is doing.

The energy company, founded by Patrick Maloney in 2014, has a staff of about 40, evenly split between the West Coast and a 6,000-square-foot space in the Graham Building inaugurated in September. (The Graham Building is also where coworking space Pipeline is.)

“We started out of my house but it didn’t work because my kids kept creeping in Google Hangouts,” said Philly-based CTO Michael Durst.

The company offers customers in deregulated states (like Pennsylvania and California) opt for wind-based renewable energy in their homes. So if you switch to Inspire, PECO will remain your energy provider but Inspire will buy renewable energy certificates from wind farms in the amount of energy you consumed.

To build out the company’s next moves, the Inspire camp is in the market for a software engineer and a front end web dev.

Fresh off their mention in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, the cofounders at goPuff are looking to hire a social media associate to help build up the company’s online presence. From the looks of the brand’s Twitter feed, you can expect to a) RT a lot of goPuff love from late night cravers and b) look up tons of food-related GIFs. They’re also hiring a backend developer.

When Bob Moore started RJMetrics he didn’t think he would be competing with Philadelphia Gas Works to get devs to work for him.

“If you don’t think data has gone mainstream, keep in mind that I’m now competing with PGW for SQL talent,” Moore tweeted, quoting in the same tweet PGW’s post on our jobs board for an SQL analyst. “This makes me super happy.”

You can see this competition go down IRL at NET/WORK, our tech jobs fair at The Fillmore on Feb. 7, because both PGW and Magento, where Moore became head of analytics after the company acquired RJMetrics, will be there.
