On the Market: Here are 20 tech jobs to start 2017 with a bang

Hop on the Stitch bandwagon, go write code for WebLinc or check out Technical.ly's own jobs fair, NET/WORK.

Though data analytics company Stitch has been keeping pretty quiet since spinning out from RJMetrics in that acquisition/spinout combo move back in August, there is some news to report:
“I wanted to let you know that Stitch just passed 100 paying clients less than 6 months from launch,” CEO Jake Stein told me in an email. “It took RJMetrics more than 5X as long (3 years) to reach that milestone.”
(Of course, it’s important to note that the two companies got off to a very different start: while RJMetrics was a bootstrapped effort from a pair of ex-venture capital guys in South Jersey, whereas Stitch began its life with a staff of 30 in an ample Center City office.)
Still, business seems to be moving along, which means there are some open spots at Stitch. Namely: a developer evangelist, a senior software engineer and an operations manager. Now, as you may have noticed from that staff picture up there, Stitch seems to have a diversity challenge.
“Yes, we have a lot of room to improve on that front,” Stein acknowledges. “I’m confident there’s no explicit biases but, are we unconsciously biased toward people who have had the same experiences as us? We’re talking about that.” Those open spots will be a good opportunity to see how those talks are going. If we’re talking tech jobs we just can’t leave out our own NET/WORK. So far, 28 Philly companies, including Vanguard, Relay and Promptworks, have signed up to come to The Fillmore on Feb. 7 for our trademark tech jobs fair (last year we hosted around 75 companies, so check back for updates in the coming weeks). Come get face time with them.

Attendees can get professional headshots, join hourly workshops and get their resume reviewed. And most importantly: there will be another Swag Report, so likely the swag game will be on point.

WebLinc’s lead dev Joe Giambrone shared this gig on our Slack channel. The Old City ecommerce shop is on the market for a Ruby On Rails developer to join its team. The gig comes with plenty of perks, including a solar-powered office (well, partly), a discount to National Mechanics and Lucha Cartel (both owned by WebLinc CEO Darren Hill) and access to an axe-throwing league (!) spearheaded by Giambrone.

Here’s a cool job description from Chester County-based software company Deacom, which is in the market for an implementation consultant.

“Have you ever seen the show ‘How It’s Made’? Deacom’s Implementation Consultants live this show on a regular basis, but on a higher level,” the company’s PR manager Kelly Peters writes. “These business-critical team members evaluate current processes of some of America’s most reputable manufactures and craft ways to strengthen their operations. This blend of technical know-how and process theory delivers a unique opportunity to drive technical innovation for enterprises. “
