Girl Develop It is hosting its biggest leadership summit in Philadelphia

GDI is still looking for a place to host the event, however. Reach out if you have space for 85 the weekend of Nov. 6-8.

Next month, more than 80 women working to close the gender gap in technology will arrive in Philadelphia.
It’s Girl Develop It’s annual leadership summit and it’s the one time a year that local organizers from the national nonprofit’s more than 50 chapters get to meet in person. This summit will be the largest one Girl Develop It has hosted, said executive director Corinne Warnshuis. (Last year’s, in New York City, brought together 60 chapter leaders.)
Throughout the weekend of Nov. 6, chapter leaders will attend leadership development workshops and share resources and best practices.

Warnshuis chose Philadelphia for this year’s summit because she wanted to bring a spotlight to the city and its tech scene and because of her strong network of local partners.
But she’s still looking for a place to host the summit. If you have a space for 85 people, reach out to Warnshuis at corinne@girldevelopit.com.
It’s been a big season for Philadelphia in terms of national tech events. It hosted the JS.Geo mapping conference, the Open Source Hardware Summit and AOL founder Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest tour stop. Later this year, Philly will host the first national WordPress conference, WordCamp US.
