Steve Tang is co-chairing this nonprofit with Gov. Tom Wolf

Another big appointment for the University City Science Center CEO.

Steve Tang was elected the co-chair of the Team PA Foundation, a nonprofit focused on connecting the private and public sector.
Tang, the CEO of the University City Science Center, is the head of private-sector arm. The head of the public-sector arm? Gov. Tom Wolf.
From the release:

“Dr. Tang’s background as both a private sector executive and nationally recognized leader in innovation and economic development will be invaluable to Team PA,” said Team PA Vice President & COO Ryan Unger, “With Steve’s direction we are excited about the opportunities to develop partnerships that drive economic and workforce development in our commonwealth.”

It’s yet another big appointment for Tang, who was appointed last fall to an advisory board to the federal Commerce Department. He’s also testified multiple times in front of Congress about the region’s life sciences industry and the importance of federal research grants. Would he ever, as we suggested in 2013, run for mayor?
