Girl Develop It is getting its biggest donation ever

This month, Benefit, a San Francisco beauty company, is donating 100 percent of its profits from its eyebrow waxing service to four women-focused charities — including Girl Develop It.

Girl Develop It is slated to get its single biggest charitable donation ever, thanks to San Francisco beauty company Benefit, Girl Develop It executive director Corinne Warnshuis told us.
During the month of May, Benefit’s “Bold is Beautiful” campaign plans to donate 100 percent of profits from its eyebrow waxing service to four women-focused charities. One of them is Girl Develop It. (Girl Develop It is a national nonprofit, with a strong presence in Philadelphia. Warnshuis is also based in Philadelphia.)
Warnshuis said she could not disclose the approximate size of the donation but that it would be the largest donation they’ve received to date. Benefit approached Girl Develop It, she said.
Other Girl Develop It donors include Paoli-based search engine DuckDuckGo, GE, Esri and Azavea.
Below, watch a video that features each of the charities who are part of the campaign. Girl Develop It Camden organizer Pamela Bey (and her superhero alter ego) star in it. It’s great. (Two Philly developers, Alexandra Hoefinger and Lisa Yoder, are also featured on Benefit’s Bold is Beautiful website.)
