Plus: Molly Soda, Detroit's "net art provoacateur," comes to Philly.

Startup Weekend, the 72-hour event where you learn to build a startup, usually skews male (roughly 80 percent male and 20 percent female, according to this site). That’s why this Startup Weekend, organized by women, is geared toward women entrepreneurs. It aims “to create a welcoming and encouraging space for aspiring women entrepreneurs,” the event page said. It features investors Ellen Weber and Gloria Rabinowitz, as well as Rutgers School of Business professor Shoko Kato.

Also: Meet Contently Chief Creative Officer Shane Snow this Friday.
