1,400 companies use Wayne’s SkillSurvey to check job references

Customers say they get more honest answers when they use the software, which anonymizes responses.

SkillSurvey anonymizes the job reference process, and its customers say that makes it easier to get honest answers.

“There have been quite a number of people we have not hired because of what we saw on the SkillSurvey results,” Jean P. Kozicki, recruitment director at Main Line Health System of Hospitals and Health Centers, told the Inquirer. “No one seems to feel comfortable saying something negative about an employee or a friend.”

The Wayne-based company with client list with the likes of L.L. Bean, NASCAR and Adidas sends out surveys to listed references. When the company gets the survey back, all the results are anonymous.

SkillSurvey’s software gets references for 50,000 job applicants a month for more than 1,400 customers, according to the Inquirer. The firm has 65 employees in the U.S. and 40 software developers in India.
