A Villanova engineering professor and his students built a wearable device that can collect data on head injuries.
The device, a headband-like insert that can be used with or without a helmet, can collect data on head impacts and track activity to monitor performance, NewsWorks reported. It’s a project from professor Ed Dougherty and his students.
NewsWorks reports that Dougherty is working with Villanova’s athletics programs to pilot the monitors early next year.
